Young Actors Institute (Middle School/Teens)  

Dates: June 11-15 ; Ages: 10-14 ; Hours: 10am – 4pm

Description:  This intensive camp includes our incredible training in improv, scene study and character development. Original scripts in monologues, scenes and commercials are professionally filmed and edited for screen tests and talent websites. A professional photographer shoots headshots with hair and make-up styling to add to your portfolio or help start your career. Industry seminars in how to land an agent and become successful in this market are taught throughout the week and a talent showcase is presented at the end of the week.

Dates: June 18-22; Ages: 7-13; Hours: 10am – 4pm

Description: Learn to perform like your favorite contemporary artists, in rock and pop style music. Record a demo in our studio and perform on stage with a live band.Rising pop stars will enjoy this camp as an opportunity to grow as a singer. Campers will study proper vocal techniques working in both private and group settings. They will learn vocal warm-ups, sight singing intervals as well as posture and breathing techniques. Each student will work on and perfect a song of their choice.

Students will learn basic recording techniques and have an opportunity to record a demo at an additional cost. We work diction, emotional connection, and performance techniques. Students will work on songs that are familiar from the radio. Family friendly Pop/Rock, R&B and Contemporary Christian songs will be sung mostly. They will each get the thrill of shooting a professional Pop/Rock Photo shoot complete with professional hair and make-up artists and a professional photographer complete with microphones, guitars, fans and backdrops with lights.

Dates: June 25-29; Ages: 7-13; Hours: 10am – 4pm

Description: This is our summer version of our professional touring group and it is one of our most successful camps. This summer you can train in singing, dancing, and acting.  Learn on camera TV acting techniques, dance moves to shows like So You Think You Can Dance and vocal styles from High School Musical and Glee! Shoot an entertainment press photo shoot for a head shot or comp card and record a demo in our studio!

Dance Explosion
Dates:

Week 1: July 9-13; Ages: 7-13; Hours: 10am to 4pm  

Week 2: July 16-20; Ages: 7-13; Hours: 10am – 4pm

Description: Learn contemporary hip-hop and break dancing moves from your favorite TV shows like Shake it Up, So You Think You Can Dance! and Step Up 3! Dance with two of Orlando’s most exciting new dance teachers Kelly Rutherford from this season’s America’s Got Talent and nationally ranked break dancer Christian Normandia.

Train in original choreography; learn hip hop/break dancing and athletic dance moves to some of the most exciting new songs. Pop Shop teachers have appeared on this year’s America’s Got Talent, Night of Joy, The Revolve Tour, TV promos for ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, movie premiere’s for Dance With Me, won 3 world championships, toured with Aaron Carter, the international tours of ‘Stomp and more.

This camp is a fantastic introduction to The Pop Shop style of dancing. This camp is for all levels of dance from beginners through advanced and is a great scouting opportunity for us to pull new kids into our touring groups! If you are a dancer that is looking for something new and exciting or have always wanted to learn to dance, this camp is for you!

Week 1 Take one of two intensive mini-camps the week of July 9-13. Students will learn urban style like Hip hop, House, B-boying, whacking, locking, popping, breaking, top rocking, freezes, footwork tutting, house, funk, Jazz and much more. Choose from either the 9am-12:00pm camp or the 1pm-4:00pm camp.

Week 2 of Dance is choreography based where all dancers take the steps learned in the mini camp during week and turn it into an incredible music video shoot and flash mob performance! Appear in a real music video, train to appear in our first flash mob show and shoot professional dance pics featuring Kelly and Christian and you! 

Hours: 10 am – 4 pm. We will be on location part of this week.

Pop Shop Training 

Each week will include performance training, audition techniques and a photo session for press photos and headshots. If your kids are looking for a fun and exciting group to join and make friends in the fall, each camper will have the chance to audition for our touring group at the end of each camp.
